FSX and the C441

Featured Replies

Good day!

I have purchased the C441 from Flysimware, and downloaded FSX, because it's not compatible with MFS2024, or 2020 from what I know?

I have the Saitek yoke and rudders, and the Bravo Throttle quadrant, but I'm having a hard time setting up the controls to work optimally with the aircraft.

Looking for guidance, videos' tips on how to do this properly. (I am technically challenged, so need something straightforward).. or somebody who has experience with this who can guide me?

Thanks !

Hi,

I use CH Pro yoke and rudders so I can’t specifically advise you on your Saitek/Bravo system, but if you really want to set up your hardware configuration to reflect the Cessna 441 controls as accurately as possible, I can recommend the payware version of John Dowson’s FSUIPC (FSUIPC 4 is the version for FSX I think).

Using FSUIPC to calibrate the controls does come with a little bit of a learning curve but it has a good manual and in addition there are some helpful You Tube videos available on the subject. If you are very keen on configuring your hardware as close to reality as possible for the 441, it is well worth the effort and indeed multiple configurations can be created with FSUIPC for as many different aircraft as you want.

Hope this might help,

Bill

The default way of setting up controls in FSX is junk.  @scianoir is correct, using FSUIPC4 is the best way to map and configure all of your controls.  FSUIPC4 is an essential addon for FSX in my opinion, I probably wouldn't use FSX without it.  You can find it here:

simMarket: FSUIPC4

There is actually another great tool for mapping and configuring controls called Axis and Ohs which you can find here:

simMarket: LORBY-SI - AXIS AND OHS V4 FSX P3D MSFS

I've tried both and both are great.  They are both payware though.  FSUIPC4 does have some extra features that the other one does not, but both are great for controls.
