January 25Jan 25 Hello… I recently installed Just Flight’s MD-81/82 Jetliner, and although the model looks great, it’s pretty broken. The landing gear’s missing and the 2D cockpit is basically nonfunctional (black gauges and is nearly inaccessible). The VC is nonexistent, stuck on a completely nonfunctional selection splash screen. I saw a similar post talking about adding a few extra lines to the dll.xml fixed the landing gear and 2D panel issue. Can anyone help me out with this?
January 26Jan 26 Hi, I have the JF/CLS MD-81 installed but hadn't flown it for a few years as I find the 'F-Lite' FMC a little too unrealistic. However, on reading your post, I loaded it up today, had a short flight and everything still seemed to be working as one would expect. I have however come across the problem you describe (no landing gear and black gauges) in other aircraft where it seems to be a protection issue where FSX is not recognising the aircraft as a registered product for some reason. If you haven't already done so, I would suggest uninstalling the aircraft completely and then reinstall it using Administrator Rights (right click on the installer to select this). If that fails then contact the vendor or Just Flight support. Bill

It sounds like you're running it in DX10 mode, and it's possible that particular aircraft may not work in DX10 mode. Some aircraft only work in DX9 mode due to their design so try running FSX in DX9 mode with this aircraft and see if that helps. February 5Feb 5 Author Sorry for the late response, I reinstalled the addon after extracting the download to my desktop and running it as an administrator to no avail. The same issues are still present. I am currently running FSX in DX9 mode, however I attempted running FSX in DX10 mode after the 3rd reinstall since it's compatible. No difference. I did attempt reaching out to JF support about the issue, and they sent me the online download that is supposed to include all updates and SP1. However, I immediately noticed it was still the Ver. 1.00 and still just as broken. I honestly don't know what to do at this point, as there are no links to any updates or the service pack online. Neither are there any examples of the extra lines being added to the ddl.xml for this Mad Dog.

They are the only ones that can help you in this situation. Can I ask, which online store did you buy it from? I'm asking because one time, I bought an aircraft from a site that was not the latest version. This is very rarre, because most stores sell the latest versions of their add-ons. The developer did fix the problem in my case. Just Flight has pretty good support overall, so as long as you keep pestering them (in a kind way), they will usually help you as best they can. My experience of Just Flight is that provides very good and pleasant support (unlike some other developers who I will restrain myself from mentioning!) so it is would be well worth contacting them again. The only thing to remember however is that this is not one of JF's own products (it was developed by Commercial Level Simulations) so there may be a limit to how far they can take it and perhaps you might need to reach out to CLS in that case. I have never had to contact CLS support so I don't know what they are like. Bill

Bill What I think is great is that Just Flight still gives support for their legacy FSX products, many other developers don't anymore. Even though they still sell their FSX products, many developers will just ignore you if you have any questions or problems with their old FSX stuff. Oh yes, many are happy to sell them for FSX but if a question is raised about some problem the answer will very likely suggest upgrading either your simulator or your operating system! Some at least have the honesty to mention on the purchase page that support will not be provided as it is a legacy product. Bill

I've had that happen many times when emailing developers about their FSX products. They usually say something like: "These are legacy products and we no longer support them. We've moved on to developing for MSFS. You should upgrade to MSFS...". As if I didn't already know lol And your right, I agree. They really need to state on the pages for their products that they no longer support them.
