How is the Captain Sim 757 ?

Featured Replies

Does it work well out-of-the-box?Does the AP work well? Does it hold the Loc+GS and autoland well? How is the FMC and its dBase?etc. Is it "ready" for purchase or does it need considerable work for any glitches and so on?Just broadbrush stuff. A few words will suffice.Appreciate any comments, thanks!JS

The model is fantastic, but the FDE and accordingly AP functionality is very simple. The FMC is not yet fully functional. These will be added later with blocks D and F. Right now all you get is a very detailed visual model with VC and basic FDE. If you want a complex simulation I suggest you wait until the whole package becomes available.http://www.commerciallevel.com/base/suppor...46supporter.jpg

JS, I own it and have no problems with it. Do yourself a favor though. Make an informed decision BEFORE purchase. Read EVERYTHING regarding it at the CS website and don't depend on every response you get. There are a lot of CS bashers just waiting to pounce on a question such as yours; and believe me you will see a lot of it in response to your question. Craig

I was one of the people that bought it the first day and was dissapointed to find out it wasnt as complex as I thought it would be, but after playing with it a while I've come to like it, it looks great and has an awsome looking VC.It is a bit hard on fps tho, more then any other addon I have but still useable.Think of it as a default plane that looks better then the usual paywares.

>> There are a lot of CS bashers just waiting to pounce on a>question>so do people get labeled as 'bashers' when they expect a company to make a product that is as bug free as possible? Now they are going to release a 753 without touching the other "blocks" yet? I knew I wasn't getting a complete airplane, but I got a almost non-clickable VC with no 2d panel, basic sounds, an airplane that can only be flown by the backup airspeed indicator, and a lack of many other things I forgot to mention.I enjoy the hercules, they did a great job with that. But the 707 I am still waiting for a patch, and now this release? Are they kidding? But of course, I am just a CS basher, not a mad customer

Discussing product bugs or problems is certainly fair, but I dont think that is what he was talking about. The "bashing" starts to be a repetitive pattern in the forums. Someone makes an accusation against a developer, almost always anonymously, and the objective reader has no idea what both sides of the story really is. Or you get a thread like this where a guy just asks an ordinary questions. In both cases you often see the same crowd, again usually anonymous, take cheap shots. Happens to all the developers from time to time, but a few seem to be singled out.I can only say that I have bought add-ons from all of the developers who regularly get bashed, and have yet to be able to confirm any of the accusations, which are sometimes pretty outlandish.
