I am very annoyed by this issue. It makes the cirrus look too artificial. Is there any fix? I did a ton of things but I'm sure it's something silly.

Are you using a weather injector eg Active Sky?

Hello, I'm having exactly the same issue. Tried already several things - e.g. changing cirrus textures, - cld.bmp files, cloudmask.bmp files but no success. Yes, using Active Sky Evolution.

Any ideas very appreciated.

I think I found the reason accidentally. Experimented with the fs9.cfg-entry "CLOUD_COVERAGE_DENSITY" and, by the way, the grid like pattern of dense cirrus clouds disappeared the more the more I increased the value from 8 to 12
