November 26, 20178 yr Hi, Carenado progresses quite well in sense of system depth, especially for the Garmin G1000. However the autopilot's FLC mode appears to be inaccurate across any model: When engaging FLC mode, the speed is initially pre-set to 100KT or subsequently the last selected speed, instead of current speed; When increasing FLC speed the aircraft goes into a steep descend and then overshoots the target speed, instead of limiting at a minimum vertical speed of around +500 feet per minute; When decreasing FLC speed the aircraft goes into steep climb, but at least captures the selected speed. I'm not a programmer but I believe fixing should not be too much of a big deal. My latest test flight was done with the Piper PA46 500TP Malibu Meridian G1000. What is your experience? Is a real aircraft supposed to behave like this? What is Carenado's statement about fixing? Cheers, Stefan
November 26, 20178 yr My experience is that Carenado's autopilots are buggy.. and they do not want to commit the effort to fix them.. Fixing the "initial speed" issue is indeed easy, and I have done that for some of their airplanes. Fixing FLC overshoot is a different challenge... Bert
