April 11, 200620 yr Hello,Had a terrible virus on my computer last weekend. When I deleted it after running Ad-Aware, I somehow lost a Registry setting that boots Windows. Reinstalled Windows and saved some files, but of course, lost my Programs. MSFS had to be reinstalled. Bad.....yes, but also good because I really had too many planes I wasn't using, and so many addons that it became bogged down to a degree.ACTIVE SKY 6, though, is a must for me. I reinstalled it, and it seems to run the engine, finds my default, KSEA, and when I am returned to the airport...nothing happens. Weather stays the same and no Metars are detected.Do I need Active Sky 5 to install Active Sky 6? If so, that's long gone. I deleted it after the install of version 6.I could use some advice here, please.ps. I'm not posting in the Active Sky Forum because somehow I'm not able to. It keeps rejecting my login. Stan
April 11, 200620 yr Stan; The ActiveSky support forum is here on Avsim and does not have a separate login. If you can post here, then you can post there. If you bought the upgrade, then the unwrapper will want to find a previous version of AS before it'll unwrap the program. But once unwrapped, you get an unrestricted installer of the full AS6 program, which, as I recall, they advised you back up for such possible events. Do you have the latest version of FSUIPC installed in the modules folder? April 11, 200620 yr Author No, I do not have FSUIP.I know....backing up is "advised" by everyone. Do we all do it? No.Should we? Yes. I'll try to be a better computer user next time. Promise!
April 11, 200620 yr Author Thanks...back in business. Didn't install FSUIP when I reinstalled other elements. That was it. Thanks again.
