Question to Moderators concerning Uploading and/or Posting?

Featured Replies

I realize there are countless excellent checklists in text already available, but none to my knowledge including FDC. I have put together a detailed checklist for the LDS767-300 (and others) including the FDC format. It is on an Excel spreadsheet. After much effort, it is a big help to me and thought it might be useful to somebody else.I have tried to simply copy it to a post, but it is scrambled in text such that I do not see that as workable, or do not know the correct procedure to have everything in spreadsheet order.I went to the library and started to try an upload but thought it might be best to check here first. I don't know if an Excel worksheet can be sinply attached or not and it would be my first attempt at an upload to the library. (Never thought about it before, but I do not know how to contact the moderators directly. How does one do that?).What I have done is originate five columns.First (A): Number in sequenceSecond (:(: LDS767-Checklist item as per Pilots operating manualThird ©: Panel Identification (i.e. Overhead, Main, Pedestal etc.)Fourth (D): Location on panel (Overhead only) Horizontal Letter, Vertical Number. (i.e. "Recirc Fan Switches" would be "E4")Fifth (E): FDC Check List Item text as per the FDC format (Some of these have to be the closest text to the LDS, but they are few)Sixth: (F) Action command in FDC (i.e. As required, Off, On, etc.)Obviously, the FDC commands have been so programmed into that utility. If you use FDC, you will know what I mean.Any other's personal preference could be easily edited probably with few changes in the worksheet text and FDC commands. If an Excel worksheet can be so attached and this effort is feasable to the powers that be, if you will so inform me and let me know the procedure, I will gladly so post and/or upload. After doing so, if there is any significant interest on the part of others, I will post the same for other birds that I have as soon as I go over them with a bit of proof reading and probably corrections and editing. For such a bird as the LSD767, for me at any rate this is a two to three day effort with much redoing and editing. If this is anybody elses thing, you know what I mean. But after the initial work, realistic checklist coverage is a piece of cake and one whale of a lot faster. If this post is a no no, I fully understand its deletion by the moderators. I just did not know how to pursue my questions otherwise. If so and I need a verbal spanking (or anyone else would like to have this one (LDS767) by email) my address is [email protected]:RTH1585368CFI

Just zip it up and the upload it to the library, providing all the information requested from the system.

Hello again Tom:My first upload went without a hitch (for the LDS767). Thank you for your courteous help.Unfortunately, my second attempt for the same thing concerning the Dreamfleet 727 did not go quite so smoothly. Hopefully something said here might help keep someone else from making the same mistake I made.First, I made the mistake of including a Readme file in a Word format (.doc) which thanks to Chase I now know is not acceptable. However, I removed the .doc file and tried to upload the zipped Excel spreadsheet twice in exactly the same way that I did with the acceptable LDS767 effort (UploadID: 187656), and it was rejected both times. I don't know whether I just slipped by with my first upload and it was in error too, or someone had a burr under their seat on my second and third attempt at the same thing for the DF727.You might want to take a peek at UploadID's 188177 and 188184 along with the emails that went back and forth concerning them. I realize I was in error with the word document for UploadID 188162.I have now resubmitted the zip which includes both the Excel spreadsheet and a .txt format Readme file (UploadID: 188238). I hope this is now in an acceptable format for all parties concerned.Respectfully:RTH1585368CFI

I suggest in the future, you handle issues with the library by emailing the library administrators directly. They have always answered my questions promptly. The forums are for discussions.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com/FC_StartJava.html] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)
