Tower Symbol Not Always Present In World Map?

Featured Replies

Why is it that sometimes the tower symbol is shown, and sometimes not. It may be there at point of departure, but not shown at arrival airport. Sometimes it's not shown at either. Is there a certain logic or game play rule at work here? Why wouldn't the tower symbol be shown at every airport that has a tower? Or at least all the major commercial airports.Scott

Hi I assume you mean the map view option in FS.I have the same problem, most of the time it isn't at my departure nor arrival airport. It's probably just hiding in Seattle as it always is when its missing.I guess it has something to do with Seattle being the default start up airport of FS, I have no idea how to change it to show up at the departure aiport everytime.I always have to drag it from Seattle to my current location in order to get an accurate tower view. But if someone has a solution for this please share! ;-) :-waveshocky :-hah

Gawd, I'd love to know a solution to this, too. It's always bugged me that I can't just "plop" the tower anywhere I please, quickly and effectively.

Shocky -Yes, the world map view. The tower symbol seems to appear randomly at departure points. It is not consistently present, and I have not ever seen it at arrival airports on VFR or IFR flight plans. It's a hit and miss situation apparently.Scott

The tower symbol location is set by the default flight at the location defined in the .FLT file:TowerLatitude=N032
