December 25, 20178 yr Hello guys, Happy Christmas!! So yesterday I was flying with the PMDG T7 and on approach when I heard a flashing sound like the windows error one's but looked the source of it but didnt find anywhere and that sound came in an interval of about 15 secs for 4-5 mins and boom FSX crashed without any trace of error. Just crashed as if I "End Processed" it through task manager. Without any error. Even the OOM pop up didnt come up. Just nothing. FSX just disappeared. Happened numerous times. I even checked the VAS and I had about 1.2GB free VAS when it crashed. Thanks
December 26, 20178 yr Sounds like you ran out of memory. The sound you heard at intervals was caused by the FSUIPC utility warning you that you are about to run out of memory (actually Virtual Address Space (VAS)). Most of the time you will not see an error message and you won't even see an OOM error message in the Event Viewer or AppCrashView. I see you are familiar with VAS as you indicated you had about 1.2GB's free when it crashed. I hear that a lot. When I'm on approach at FlightBeam's KIAD using AS16 in the PMDG 777 I can only hope and pray I do not run out of VAS. I have 1GB and sometimes more than that left at the beginning of the approach and then, suddenly, I have 400MB's then back up to 900MB's and then down to 350. Finally I land and I can hear the FSUIPC utility chiming away that things are getting scary. In any case, I landed. Just need to get to the terminal, then the infamous message "you have run out of memory and your program will terminate". After I terminate, I go to the FSUIPC log in the Modules folder and see exactly how much VAS I had at the approach phase to the runway. It fluctuates up and down, sometimes instantly, sometimes staying at the same level for a minute or more. I usually can make it down and to a gate with 300 MB's or more remaining after landing. But the immersion is lost when I hear the FSUIPC chimes in the background. I have found the landing phase of any flight takes up more VAS than on any other phase of the flight. If you have real weather and eye-candy scenery you are flying into, then your chances are less you will be successful. It's a bummer as the approach phase is what I enjoy the most when flying into a default airport without real weather. Wonder if you got an AppCrshView report or there is something about it in the Event Viewer? The AVSIM CTD Guide, page 7, talks about that (link in my signature). Best regards, Jim Thanks for pointing it out sir. But there is nothing related to the error in the Event Viewer (Not during that time). Can you say which FSUIPC4 log should I check?
