FSX Crashes When Clicking Fly Now

Featured Replies

I installed FSX today after reinstalling Windows 8.1. Had FSX before and it worked like a charm. Basically I installed FSX like normally, everything is okay during FSX menu or changing the settings. But problem occurs when I try to play a mission or click fly now on free flight. I get kicked to desktop, FSX runs for few more seconds in the background and then crashes, I get a pop up saying Fatal error has occured.

I have DirectX installed, net Framework and MSXML installed. Also installed latest drivers.

My specs are: APU A10 5745M, Radeon HD8610G, 8GB RAM. Run FSX before on this so system specs shouldnt be a problem.

Hopefully you have this fixed by now but, during loading, you will see what is loading, like textures and land, air, and sea traffic.  That's your clue as to what caused it.  If it happened while loading scenery textures, then it must be an addon scenery not installed properly.  The AVSIM CTD Guide (see link in my signature) provides more info.  See probable causes of FSX crashing while loading the flight.

Best regards,

Jim
