Has anyone run into this?  X-Plane 11 error is saying:

"X-Plane is missing a required resource: keyboard_key.png"

I have tried to google the file name but come up with nothing.

I would appreciate any help.

There's a file named "keyboard_key.png" inside "X-Plane 11\Resources\bitmaps\interface11\".

Maybe the file has been deleted by chance from your installation for some reason. Try re-running the X-Plane installer, it should put the file back in.
