December 27, 20178 yr I have been flying around a lot with the Google Earth Flight Simulator. So, it is not a high fidelity flight simulator. But it allows you to explore so many places with 3D buildings, and you can position yourself anywhere on the globe. I haven't been to the North Cascades National Park in Washington since 1972, the other day I used the Google Earth Flightsim to navigate thru "America's Alps". If you get good framerates in FSX, P3D, or Xplane, you will get astounding framerates in Google Earth's Flight Sim. Imagine flying a F16 thru canyons and vistas like Luke Skywalker. Granted there is no cockpit or immersion, but the scenery can be amazing. Google Earth's mesh is not accurate in all places. I tried Guilin China but alas the karst formations were not visible. I tried around Angel Falls, but I found Xplane's mesh better there. But if you want to do a tour of Manhattan, then Google Earth is amazing. Or maybe you want to buzz Disneyworld if you don't want to pay for tickets. It is delightfully rendered by Google. Given it is free, give Google Earth a try if you haven't already. PS: Although there are no wing views, you can select side views by selecting the Ctrl and arrow keys...
December 30, 20178 yr I forgot about this. So I tried it. Take off from LAX was not good. But once I was in the air, flying over LA was wonderful. Control is a little squirrely. Bob i5, 16 GB ram, GTX 960, FS on SSD, Windows 10 64 bit, home built works anyway.
