AI problem with new Kai Tak scenery

Featured Replies

Hi, Love the new Kai Tak Scenery but have problem with AI when attempting to land using rwy 13.I go to spot view and follow a plane on approach to rwy 13 and every time when the plane is about 15 miles from the airport FS9 will crash to desktop with no error message. Planes land without a problem on rwy 31 but will always CTD when attempting to land on rwy 13. It is very frustrating and i am yet to see a plane land on rwy13 and am dying to see AI do the checkerboard approach. As far as i know i don,t have any conflicting AFCAD,S.I do have Thomas Kwongs VHHH scenery installed and activated but as far as i know that should not be a problem. Any idea,s? Thanks for any help , Simon.

I would try using the Kai Tak scenary.I am running into memory leak problems. I am removing those other scenaries.Manny

Hi, If you have Tom Gibson's and Jim Vile's scenery try posting on the CalClassic Forum as well.I thnik I have a similar kind of problem as well, although I get the green line and 'crash' message when trying to follow AI planes in to land and not a CTD.Andy .

Hi,I have not seen this with either scenery (my 1963 or Jim's 1998), but make sure to move Jim's AFCAD file into the Kai Tak 98/scenery folder (alongside the rest of his BGL files), to avoid duplicate AFCAD problems. Also, create a separate Kai Tak 98 LC / scenery folder system and place all files that contain LC or WC in their filenames into that scenery folder. Then activate it in the Scenery Library, putting it just below the Kai Tak 98 layer. This will avoid memory leaks.Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___
