January 28, 20188 yr My first-ever add-on to FSX, on which I have about 100 hours, with multi-engine and jet aircraft. Downloaded MU-2 and it shows up in my list of aircraft. When I click FLY NOW, the MU-2 is on the airport I requested. And none of the buttons or functions I use with INCLUDED aircraft work with MU-2. The manual offers no advice of making stuff happen in FSX. I have looked at all 4 videos, and there is nothing introducing how to use the mouse nor what views do what. In the first video, the point-of-view glides from entry door to then instrument panel - with zero explanation how to DO any of that. Please can someone experienced with MU-2 in FSX explain how to START using and flying the add-on? Greg B.
January 29, 20188 yr Might want to post this in their forum here: https://www.avsim.com/forums/forum/728-flysimware-forum/
January 29, 20188 yr Hi, You can get the manual (such as it is) on this http://flysimware.com/website/MU_2B_60.html page. There are several Pilot's Handbooks and AOM's for the aircraft available with a simple Google search for "Mitsubishi MU-2 Manual". DJ
January 29, 20188 yr Author Thanks, ubersu, I have the flysimware manual, which includes no advice on using the mouse. I will look for others.
January 29, 20188 yr What advice on using the mouse would you like? As far as panel controls go, the aircraft works like any other. If you want to use the mouse as a joystick, my advice is simply: "Don't". DJ
January 29, 20188 yr Author “What advice on using the mouse would you like?” I assume from other’s messages that when Moo appears (on runway, engines running) I must click VIRTUAL COCKPIT, expand it to full screen, then somehow use mouse clicks and wheel to make stuff happen. I have mouse and no joystick. Right? If right, 1. How do I reduce engine power? Where do I SEE engine power declining? Moo appears with engines running and plane rolling down runway, well below takeoff speed. PAUSE works, BRAKES applies brakes but does not stop plane because of too high engine power. With sim in PAUSE, no buttons or controls work. With sim out of PAUSE, plane rolls uncontrolled. Wheel Chocks do not work. How set flaps for take-off? “As far as panel controls go, the aircraft works like any other.” Not that I can see. No guidance on setting altitude to climb too (WHERE and how). No instruction on moving heading bug or anything else. No instruction on setting altitude or changing default nav / com frequencies. Perhaps autopilot can be set once in the air, but I don’t know how to get into the air.
January 29, 20188 yr If you have no joystick you need to get one to fly this aircraft - it is almost impossible to fly with the mouse and manage the other functions at the same time. The throttles can be managed with the standard FS keystrokes as can many other functions - review the FSX keyboard controls. The autopilot has no automatic "fly to this altitude" function - it has altitude hold. This is not a plain jane FS default aircraft. DJ
