It shouldn't make any difference where you installed FSX. What does make a difference is that the registry, the system, and the NGX, have no idea that FSX is installed. You need to do a re-install of FSX and you will need to install SP1 and SP2 as well. It is just possible that the correction utility from Flight 1 can fix your registry problem, but you will still need the service packs. David Jones

The file is binary and cannot be edited save with a hex editor, and only then if you know the format. As far as I am aware the format specification has not been released. DJ

There is no reason in this, or any other, world for PMDG or any other company to do any such thing. FS itself is a discontinued product and MS certainly has not, and probably will not, release any flightsim game or add-on for free regardless of age. The number of payware items released for free, by anyone, is minuscule. DJ

This is a freeware, unsupported, version of the 747 for FSX . It does not run in FS2004 at all. DJ

Things to notice: the aircraft was developed for FS2002, Dreamfleet has been out of business for years, and it is spec'd for XP only. I could never get it running properly in a Win7 x64 environment. DJ

This is simply not true. The charts for France and Germany are still available for free online from their respective authorities or from (the easy way) Eurocontrol. You will find most (if not all) of the European charts on Eurocontrol for no charge. You must register and use their tools for search and display. Most other nations make their charts available from their own repositories as well, Mexico being an exception due to interdepartmental bickering. DJ

All you need to do is to submit a support ticket to Flight1 and they will arrange for you to get a copy of the installer. You are not the first person to have this issue. When you get the new installer, make a backup. You may also retrieve your codes and get a new copy of the key via Flight1's automated system. DJ

It's still "usable" for some value of usable - it doesn't support any current version of IE, however. That's a problem since many pieces of software (on and off the web) expect to find it on your system. Unless you have removed it, IE is part of your system. Have you set Chrome as the default browser? If not, you might try to do so, or if you have, then set the default back to IE. I finally replaced my last XP system last week - note that even Chrome no longer supports it with updates. DJ

You make no mention of any other topo scenery you may be using, or how you have set your "TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL". which should be 20. PHX is a mess with regard to terrain and also needs an exclude like: "Exclude=N33 26 40,W112 02 10,N33 25 21,W111 58 55,objects". Make sure you have no duplicate AFCADs as well. I have never had an issue with KBOS and suggest you try the FlyTampa forum for an answer. DJ

I expect it isn't programmed to fly a DME arc - few add-ons of its era were. It's a simple matter to fly the arc the old fashioned way, however. DJ

Sure, I'll comment - some uninstallers (and installers, for that matter) are sloppy. In 30 years of PCs, however, I've never seen one as sloppy as you describe (and I do/did software and software support for a living...). MS couldn't care less about your uninstaller - it's a legitimate program and the OS isn't a mind reader. Me, I suspect there is more to the story than you relate. DJ

You'll get a number of opinions, but your best bet is to believe every word the developer writes with regard to system requirements. There is a reason they write them. DJ

I'm not sure what add-ons you are using external to FSX, but what you are seeing is normal. FSX cannot run in a Win7 Aero environment and will change Windows to match what it needs. DJ

No, they don't work - what does work is a properly set up computer and a properly set up installation of FSX. There is no magic. DJ
