  1. Absolutely correct. If you look at HiFi's site there are no FS9 products still on sale. ASE does provide FSX support as well as FS9 support, so I expect it will be around for a while yet, even though no longer on sale by the developers. DJ
  2. FSAerodata appears to make the same sort of modifications as the Sors data does, so yes - you'd have the same issues. DJ
  3. Yet another response to a topic that is several years old, and your response has nothing to do with the question. DJ
  4. You just responded to an eight year old thread dealing with a freeware aircraft that has nothing to do with what you posted. DJ
  5. The one thing guaranteed is that software development and testing costs continue to rise. I'm sure that if you were willing to pay the costs, PMDG would be delighted to build the greatest MD-11 of all time. Otherwise, note that the manufacturer couldn't sell it in the real world either, take the fact that it was a poor seller in the sim market as well and give it up. I think PMDG did a great job in FS9 and FSX with the aircraft and there is nothing they could do that would make it more desirable today than it was to begin with. David Jones
  6. If you are running a 32bit OS, then 3GB - room for the OS stub is all you get in XP, or 3GB in Win7 up. Otherwise in 64 bit systems, if you have have the registered version of FSUIPC use its memory usage display. DJ
  7. Just delete your departure and destination airports . . . if properly programmed that should do it. DJ
  8. Here's a tip: don't do that. Few, if any payware aircraft or aircraft of any complexity take kindly to that kind of treatment. DJ
  9. That isn't the current proposal. As proposed by Trump, it would be completely autonomous and self-funded. Airports are not "owned" by the Federal Government and can and will set whatever fees are felt appropriate. DJ
  10. Chock is correct. AOPA is very much opposed to privatization and is fighting it tooth and nail. DJ
  11. It is a foolish idea that has been kicked around since Reagan's time in office. It would result in a very expensive system that would increase ticket prices dramatically, reduce air travel and probably drive several airlines right out of business as a result. Since the system is supposed to be "self-supporting", fees to cover all costs - operations, overhead, research and development, and employee benefits, will be covered only by users and not by the tax base as a whole. In a system the size of the US system, I suspect that would be unsupportable since those costs are very high. You cannot compare the European, Canadian, or Kiwi systems to the US system - size does count. The FAA is not the roadblock to innovation - the Congress, which has annually refused to provide sufficient funding, is the roadblock. Our politicians have an uncanny ability to understand only what they want and a deep ignorance of the implications of their desires. DJ
  12. Sure, they'd sell about as many as Vickers did . . . on the other hand, I've actually seen this aircraft in action since the British mission in Washington, D.C. had at least one for various diplomatic activities. It is one of the most amazingly loud transports that ever operated out of IAD! Presumably, the RAF version made no attempt at silencing . . . DJ
  13. Here is Pete's site and forum: http://forum.simflight.com/forum/30-fsuipc-support-pete-dowson-modules/ DJ
  14. There is a tool that will help with finding and fixing these sorts of problems - ACA. Take a look at this http://aifs2.pvdveen.net/ site for details and documents. DJ
  15. I've done support for years and would never, ever, ask for proof of purchase for another dev's product. Feel free to tell the asker to stick it, and complain via the other vendor's contact venue. DJ
  16. Chicago has no SIDs these days - they went away some time ago. Chicago has numerous STARs. When you are flying in the US it is worthwhile to check this https://www.faa.gov/air_traffic/flight_info/aeronav/digital_products/dtpp/search/ to see what the real world has. When you are flying in Europe go to EADS/Eurocontrol and register for access to all the European charts. David Jones
  17. All PMDG aircraft use the same nav database. As I recall, the new 747 didn't overwrite the current database that I use. DJ
  18. Hi, Make sure that FS is set to a date/time within the range covered by the AIRAC. Make sure you are using version 3 of the PMDG AIRAC as currently posted on the Navigraph site. There were errors in earlier versions that may or may not be affecting your data. If you manually enter your flight plan, do you see the same error at line 177? David Jones
  19. Hi, First problem is generally caused by starting with a saved flight outside the date range of the AIRAC, or by an incorrect system or FS date/time. The second problem indicates an error in the AIRAC file itself, or possibly in the Arpt_Rwy.dat file in the PMDG\Navdata folder - delete that file and let the aircraft rebuild it the next time you fly and see if that does the trick. If it doesn't then go download the current revised V3 AIRAC posted at Navigaph and if that doesn't fix it post the issue to their forum. David Jones
  20. The site is just fine today . . . DJ
  21. There are no add-ons for FS9 light GA aircraft that support the current AIRAC, Mindstar has a GNS 430/530 that supports an updateable AIRAC. It can be installed in any of your GA aircraft. For more information, look here http://www.mindstaraviation.com/Product_430_530.html it can be updated with AIRAC data from http://www.realnavdata.com/. None of this is free, of course. DJ
  22. I sure wish I was this guy's lawyer - he'd own UA by the time the case was over and we'd both be rich. Everybody on that plane anywhere near the incident recorded this. DJ
  23. Thanks for Fort Wayne! KMEM would be just great - the Blueprint version is too simple and the FSDT version is very heavy and will bring some systems to the verge of VAS depletion just sitting on the ramp . . . DJ
