Make sure you have UAC turned down and run AirEdit from the right click "run as administrator" - it's not changing the file because it lacks sufficient permissions to do so. DJ

If you selected the LDA Y approach to KDCA the PFD should be displaying IASO and your course should be 147 until you get to JEVGA waypoint at which proint you fly a visual approach, you will turn right to 185 for the landing. The navdata in 1710 appears to be correct and without seeing your FMC I can't tell you what is going on, but you appear to be way off course and to have selected the LDA Z approach. From KATRN you should be flying to CROOZ for the approach - your course line suggests that you are attempting the approach from KATRN in the wrong direction and did not actually select the approach in the FMC. Define "crushed" then . . . it would seem that you are bearing up rather well. Comparing anything Carenado does to anything PMDG has ever done, at any price, is absurd. You can get rather nice, free, DC series aircraft that have about the same systems level as most Carenado aircraft and save your money. DJ

I've got to ask - if you are really crushed by not being able to get this immediately, why are you wasting money on other less expensive aircraft? DJ

I use FS9 and FSX. I have considerable invested in both sims and have no intention of starting over with another sim. I am 72 years old and thoroughly enjoy what I have and have no plans to spend massive amounts of money on more eye candy for the brief time I have left in this world. Hi, Nick If your FSUIPC is 2 years old you would do well to go here http://forum.simflight.com/topic/80977-updated-modules/ and get the latest version . . . it costs nothing to update. DJ

If you are using the payware version of FSUIPC you might enable the built-in memory monitor. That will display how much FS is using and how much is available and block availability size. If you are using 4096 cloud art textures you can burn a lot of memory on a cloudy day. If you are using AI and going to somewhere like JFK, there are several airports that get instantiated and have heavy traffic. If you watch the monitor you can get a pretty good idea what is happening and where it is happening. For example: if I try to fly into FSDT KLAX with the PMDG or iFly 747 I have serious memory issues unless I turn off KONT, KBUR, KLGB, and KSNA which are all add-ons as well, because all get instantiated on the approach to LAX. Better than toothpaste, run down to your local motorcycle dealer and get some helmet visor polish. It is a very fine polish that will remove scratches and leave a very smooth surface behind. If your disk is deeply scratched or chipped, you're out of luck. DJ

Kevin, what a charming response. FS knows nothing about airways and AI doesn't either. AI knows about departure and destination airports. You might read the TTOOLS documents one day. DJ
