I am just a beginner but very interested in FS. I do not know where to look for information or a tutorial on how the diferent aircraft files (i.e. aircraft, panel, model, texture, sound, etc.)interact with each other. As an example, if I am not explaining myself properly, If I have an aircraft (say a Cessna 182) and want to add a different panel and keep both the original aircraft with its original panel and a second aircraft, same as the original, but with a different panel, how do I do it. Also, I would like to know how other files react such as effects, scenery, etc.Donato

Are you interested in flying fsim airplanes (I may be able to help you) or are you primarily interested in software development/tweaking of Fsim aircrafts. ( Can't help you here)Manny

Hi,The example of the Cessna 182 you give is a good example as it has 2 panels already!By looking in the aircraft cfg(opened by double clicking etc) you can see there which aircraft has the ifr panel and how it is set up.In order to have the same aircraft with 2 panels you will need to create a 2nd aircraft( by copy/pasting in the cfg)and changing the atc numbers etc and the flightsim number in the cfg.Your 2nd panel will need to be named differently-say 'panel.2' and the '2' marked against panel in the cfg of your 2nd aircraft. If you keep the same texture folder without renaming it you will only see 1 plane I think, but you could just rename the copied texture folder 'texture.2' and mark '2' against texture in your 2nd plane and I think then you might have 2 planes with the same texture but different panels.Andy.

Donato,If you are interested in the inner workings of Flight Simulator, start with the FS SDK provided by Microsoft:http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimul...wnloads_sdk.aspI have begun looking into these files, and I have learned a few things from them. Give them a look.

Jason[br /]General Aviation Fan[br]P4 3.2Ghz, 1GB Ram, FX5900 128MB, XP SP2.[br /][br /]
