This received from Dan at 5:59 P.M. on Friday, April 29th:"Dear All, I have been informed that Mr David Eckert has somehow attempted to legitimise his "boycott" of AVSIM by stating that my departure from both AVSIM, and the hobby in general, was for "similar reasons to his". This is not the case, I have nothing directly against either AVSIM or its staff, I have, and will always maintain that AVSIM is the best FS site around, BAR NONE, regardless of some of the arrogant and argumentative participants of the forum. It is pure coincidence that my departure and Mr Eckerts "boycott" have come at this time, but my reasons for leaving were due to the general bad attitude of the hobby as a whole, and not strictly centred around AVSIM. Whilst I think Mr Eckert is a very good producer of add-ons, and am a fan of his work, I do not subscribe to his way of thinking on this boycott, and do not support/condone it in ANY way, if Mr Eckert reads this I would politely ask him to remove the reference on his website regarding my departure to his "boycott".
