"a copilot is not required for this type of aircraft !?"

Recommended Posts

Hi to all,

I just wanted to fly my new 'MILVIZ OTTER' with  MCE (only the ATC-option) but MCE is always restarting with the sentence:

"...you don't need my assistance ... a copilot is not required for this type of aircraft !?"

This seems to be an endless loop !?

Using MCE 2.7.48 (p3dv4.1)...

greetings

Gerolamo

kind regards, ggerolamo

You may have messed-up your MCE config file by accident.

Suggest you reset to factory settings.

Start->All Apps->Multi Crew Experience->Restore factory settings.

When prompted to go through the app wizard, you can skip over the speech training part.

Thanks for the reply !

Meanwhile, I know the reason of the problem :

in the 'Aircraft.cfg' file I changed a corresponding entry in the [General] section :

old entry:

[General]
Category=airplane

new entry:

Category=airplane
atc_type=Otter
atc_model=DHC-3 Otter Milviz

------------------------------------------

I need this entry for another Software (FSCaptain) and

obviously this change of entry is the reason for my problem with MCE !?

Do you see any solution to this problem ?

Entries that matter in "Aircraft.cfg"

[fltsim.X]

Title=the_livery_currently_loaded_in_the_sim_must_be_listed_in_one_of_fltsim.X_sections

sim=whatever_original_sim_name

The other possibility, aircraft installs outside the usual <SimObject> folder.

Suggest you install latest MCE

Among other things, newer version checks not only "Add-ons.cfg" in C:\PrrogramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\ folder for aircraft installed outside default, it also looks in "Add-ons.cfg" in C:\Users\youir_user_name\AppData\...

MCE is guaranteed to load with ANY aircraft.

This aircraft not being on the fully supported list, I guess Fo will handle gear, flaps, radios tuning and maybe a few other things.

Aerosoft Otter is fully supported.

Mid you, this aircraft could be flown solo :dry:

 Unfortunately, this is not the case with the MILVIZ OTTER !

[General]
Category=airplane

atc_model=DHC-3 Otter Milviz

-------------->> MCE is not working !

[General]
Category=airplane

----------->> MCE is working !

OK, I sorted it out  !! :-)

Obviously MCE has a problem with  long atc_model names (or the 'space' between) !?

atc_model=DHC-3 Otter Milviz ---> is not  working

atc_model=DHC-3                    ----> is working !

...there are always new discoveries ;-)
