February 27, 20188 yr Hello there, I just bought the mighty Fokker 50 and read a bit through the documentation (which could be a bit more detailed in my opinion..) but I don't quite look through it as I was used to fly the PMDG 777 / 737 only and the F50 definitely is another game. I have to say though that it handflies like an absolute dream, very surprised by that! However I just got a few questions: - Does it have some kind of accurate TD calculation? Or does one have to calculate it manually? - Is it possible disable on the ND that all the nearby airports and waypoints are displayed? I think in the real F50 it can be disabled through the FMS but I couldn't find the option in the Carenado FMS. - Regarding fuel and weight, does it have to be entered via the P3D main menu? As it doesn't come with a load manager neither can it be added through the FMS. Many thanks in advance and happy flying!
February 27, 20188 yr Hi Raoul, If you are used to flying using the Boeing FMC in the PMDG airliners, you will unfortunately find that the Carenado FMS is very limited indeed. It basically has a functioning LNAV, though lacking the ability to enter an airway, a VNAV of sorts and very little else! It's a pity because the Fokker 50 is otherwise a great product but it is let down by the FMS and, I would agree, by the poor documentation. Bill
February 27, 20188 yr Author Hey there, Many thanks for the fast reply! Thats indeed what I feared si I guess its back to the roots and calculating the Top of Descend manually. I don't quite look through on the engaging of LNAV/VNAV, looks like I need to engage NAV as well in order to use LNAV? I agree, the Fokker is a marvelous aircraft, lots of childhood memories for me as Luxair operated them during my first 10 years of air travel.

I have only done a few flights using the Carenado FMS as frustration with that system led me to abandon it for the more reliable GTN750 but, if I can recall correctly, selecting LNAV also resulted in the NAV button becoming engaged automatically, which didn't seem quite right to me! I have only flown on the Fokker 50s of Aer Lingus but my childhood memories extend back a bit further than yours as my first airliner flights were on the Viscount and 707! Bill
February 28, 20188 yr i believe you just need to select LNAV to follow the FMS route. NAV is for VOR/ILS from what i've found.
