  2. Hey all. I have P3D Pro and was wondering if 'Academic' payware aircraft work with it? An example is the A2A T-6 Texan. I see there is a Academic and Pro version, with the Pro version being about $40 more. Wasn't sure if one could just buy the Academic one if they use P3D Pro or if they have to pay the extra cash for the 'Pro' version. Thanks for any info!

    Thanks again for your help Dan. It must be outdated data. Seems to be conflicting data on the ILS. I have another long haul later today and will try again. I can't remember right but I think the chart I had and P3D had Dubai runway 12R as 109.50 but that seems to be for 30R. That would make sense if there was no ILS info but DME was good. Thanks again!

    For these airports just the default P3D scenery. That is Alan Watts. Yes sir. Flown the tutorials. That's how I know Dubai ILS is correct as I have landed on this runway before. I can arm both and they are white on the main screen. But there is no indication that they are there on the vertical and horizontal indicators (sorry about bad terminology). I usually wait until I see the little diamonds before arming but I was at 14 DME and thought it odd I haven't seen any 'diamonds' yet. Usually the G/S diamond shows at 20 DME. So I armed LOC and it stayed white and then tried the APP button and it of course stayed white. Before these last 2 flights the LOC diamond appears way before 20 DME.

    Hey all. Loving the 777. Fantastic plane. Everything has been going great but last few flights I have had an issue. Despite having an ILS runway in my FMC and tuned to right frequency, when I arm the LOC or G/S there no signal. I am getting the proper DME reading however so there is a signal there. The buttons light up when pressed. This is a recent issue as it has always worked before. Both times have been at airports with ILS (OMDB and LFPG). The difference between these 2 flights and my other flights are a different panel start state. I always flew with the default panel state where the engines are running. I recently joined a VA however that requires I activate the ACARS software before engine start so I have been using the 'Short' panel state for that. My only guess is there is something I am maybe missing to switch or turn on that is automatically turned on in the default state. Any ideas? Thanks for your time!

  10. Hello all! Wasn't sure where to ask this, so figured since it's 'generally' referring to my use of P3D, I would ask here! I have been using FSX:SE but a few weeks back switch to P3D (a good choice I have found!). I am going to join a VA and need to install FSUIPC for P3D. Now I already have it installed for FSX. Can I install a second FSUIPC for P3D or is there a way to configure the current install to P3D? Just want to make sure I do it right and not screw anything up. Thanks for any info! Gord

  13. Hello all! Been enjoying the heck out of the 777 and was thinking about picking up the 737 as well. Are there many major differences between how they operate? I imagine they use the same FMC? Obviously I expect they won't be exactly the same but curious what the learning curve will be. Thanks!

  18. Thanks for the great reply!! That actually sounds exactly what I am looking for. I prefer to fly a bit over just 'manage'. That's why I got bored of the AS A320 series. I bought the Milviz 732 as it allows a more 'raw' airliner flying experience. I also don't have time for long hauls and like to go off the beaten path. So this sounds like a perfect plane. Do you need that FS2Crew as some suggest or ok to fly without? Thanks again!!

  23. I am thinking it's the RPM gauge. I always just put it to 2700 on take off but last night I put it full throttle and it stayed at 2700 and I had way more power. Funny thing is I then throttle back quite a bit and it stay at 2700. If I put it to 2200 or something for cruise there is hardly any throttle. Either way it works now, even with the gauge seeming off. I can tell by the fuel flow that even when it says it's at 2700, it doesn't seem to really seem to be.

  25. Hi all. Great little plane! Wondering what the proper load/start should be. I know some planes prefer to be loaded as something simple then switched after loading to the proper aircraft and others you can load straight away from the FSX main menu. My issue is I find the Cutlass has power problems if I start it myself. Either loading the ultralight then switching and starting the engine myself or if I load the cutlass directly and shut down the restart produce the same results. Plane flies Ok but can't get over 60 knots climbing at 2700 or 90 knots at cruise. Decided to try for the heck of it just loading cutlass directly from menu and take off with the engine running as it had loaded. Huge difference. Easily getting 75 knots climbing and over 100 cruising. So basically curious what is best way to load cutlass and if anyone has any ideas about less power after doing my own start. Thanks!
