March 2, 20188 yr Hi, I could not find any reference to the values and units used in the generated file. Didn’t see any mention of it in Volume 1 chapter 1 as the brief manual suggests. Some is self explanatory all right, other values are more obscure in terms of nature and the units used. Could someone elaborate on that?
March 2, 20188 yr Author Volume 2 Chapter 2 is the procedure guide that might explain how to set up the DFDR so it would generate a file - This was not my question, I have no issue in doing that. I was referring to the CONTENTS of the generated file. For instance, it has ATT, ACV and ACS - what do these stand for? If ATT is attitude should it have negative values on the ground? I'm getting , for example -7 on the ground for ATT. does that mean 0.7 deg? maybe something else? couldn't find any info in the docs in that regard. Neither chapter 1 nor chapter 2 neither does the search function yield any results...... Another example, My VS at RA=0 is -23. is that -230ft/min? 3 seconds later with WOW GND event its -9. Does it take 3 seconds from touchdown to WOW event? 6 seconds form RA=0 till GSCM switches from FLT to GND? is all that information documented anywhere?

We could (when time permits) write a short quick guide to explain all the acronyms (don't take it as a promise for now). 2 hours ago, ha5mvo said: is that -230ft/min? Yes 2 hours ago, ha5mvo said: 3 seconds later with WOW GND event its -9. Does it take 3 seconds from touchdown to WOW event? In this case it did, it could be either a very soft landing, or a bounced landing or the scanning rate (it's a simulator, not a real DFDR so there are for sure some limitations). 2 hours ago, ha5mvo said: 6 seconds form RA=0 till GSCM switches from FLT to GND? The GSCM requires also consent of the nose wheel strut ground sensing mechanism so this could also possibly be normal (plus/minus rates of scanning and errors as above). Sorry for the misunderstanding. Edited March 2, 20188 yr by Meekg Michele Galmozzi
March 2, 20188 yr Author Hi, No need to get into the nitty gritty of it all initially, as you say. Perhaps just a list of what, 10-15 values in a forum post. Surely it won’t take as much effort... After all, you guys have gone into the trouble of coding that bit. I think it’s a great tool and it’s very well implemented. It will be a pity really if people don’t use it cause they can’t decipher some of the content.
