Custom key assignments

Hi Maddog fans,

Thought I'd necro this thread, as it's the one that always comes up when I Google this topic (I always forget how to do this, and I think this is my third time coming here and getting confused!).

OPs question never really gets answered - very circuitous logic chaps 🙂 - although ShezA provides an answer near the end that may have been correct for earlier versions, but is not the location of the file in the Prepar3d v5 version.

Anyway, here's the summary:

OP's Question: How do you backup the Custom Event commands that are created in the Load Manager (so that you don't lose them during upgrades etc)?    

Answer: In the Prepar3d v5 version of the Maddog, the appropriate file is found in <drive>:\<My Documents Folder>\Maddog X Files\Prepar3D v5\Data. The file you are looking for is maddogx.ini. The section of the .ini file that you want is labelled [keyboard]

A bit more information, for those who are interested:

Why you want to use Custom Event commands: The load manager is incredibly useful for binding custom commands to keyboard inputs. I use this with both FSUIPC and VoiceAttack to control the various switches in the cockpit. For example, using FSUIPC I set a HOTAS joystick button to send one of these key commands. Then set the key command in load manager to action something useful, such as the AP functions. So in my setup, AP_VERT_SPEED mode is CTRL SHIFT F9, which is linked via FSUIPC to a switch on my throttle.  

The Maddog commands in the Load Manager "Events Commands" menu are not exactly intuitive, but you will work them out eventually. If it helps, here are my current key bindings. You could add this to your maddogx.ini and then press the appropriate keys to see what happens!
