Did I do something wrong?

Featured Replies

In the last day or so I downloaded some "photoreal" scenery for Albuquerque from the Avsim library. I don't know if I did something wrong in installing it, but I really don't see anything "photoreal" in it. There are some buildings that resemble those in downtown ABQ, and I can see faint traces of streets and arroyos, and the general outline of the Sandia mountains seems close enough, but the terrain is sort of colorless and there just aren't any details.I surely must have done something wrong in the installation, or maybe didn't get all the files, or something. Can someone give me some help on what I might have done wrong?I forgot the scenery author's name, but I think that scenery was posted in the new files library list yesterday. Thanks!Dewey

You're not confusing photoreal with photographic are you?Victor

That's me :)The available aerial photo for Albuquerque (USGS Urban Area) isn't very colorful. I found another source, i-cubed, but they didn't respond when I asked about distribution. In fact, I actually did the ground textures and autogen with the i-cubed version before having to switch to the USGS version. The i-cubed photos are a lot more colorful, but I couldn't use them.See http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=al...036306&t=k&om=1 for the USGS version.and http://maps.yahoo.com/beta/#maxp=search&q1...=35.08421&mag=2 for the i-cubed.
