Aerosoft Heathrow Professional APPHANG

I just reinstalled my sim and now whenever I try and spawn at Heathrow, the sim will run for a few seconds then stop responding. Event viewer says it’s an apphang, event id 1002. It worked perfectly before reinstalling, and I’ve tried asking on Aerosoft’s forums to no avail. Ran the installer as admin, uninstalled and reinstalled several times, restarted the computer, tested different aircraft and it all has the same result. Any ideas on how to solve this would be much appreciated.

A couple things I'd check...first, that you don't have two (or more) instances of EGLL in the add-on.cfg file.  Some uninstallers don't do a complete job of removing the .cfg and .xml file entries in the new addon structure.  If it's in there twice, it'll try to load it twice.

Second, load the sim at another airport, turn your traffic completely off, relocate to EGLL and see if that makes a difference.  Could be a bad AI model/texture boogering things up.

Not running any traffic programs. Heathrow Professional doesn’t use addon.xml so it didn’t show up in the addons cfg file. I also checked the scenery cfg itself and it was only in there once as it should be.

One other possibility is that there are more than one of the scenery's AFCADs active...the configurator swaps between six different versions of the AFX file, all with names beginning with "EGLL_AFX-"  One and only one of these files should end in .bgl, the others shoud end in .bgl.off  Perhaps the uninstall left one of the other bgls still in place active.  You might uninstall, remove the entire "Mega Airport London Heathrow" directory if the uninstaller did not, then reinstall to insure nothing is left over from before.

Only one BGL is active after checking.
