Hey guys... I'm gonna be in Albany NY for a week in June for training for my new job. I was wondering if there are any good (and hassle free) spoting locations for KALB?Brian

Oh sure, visit Albany 2 years after I leave it. Just kidding :)I'm not sure what spotting is (I still don't know flight sim lingo) but if it means someplace you can sit and watch the airplanes then yes there is an area you can do it. I'm probably not much help, but there is a small parking lot at the end of one of the runways. Its right along the road leaving the airport. I wonder if I can find a map somewhere and point it out to you.

There is a dedicated parking area just for plane watching at KALB. It's right on the main highway leading into the airport, Albany Shaker Road, I believe. It's right off and on the end of the main runway (90). You can't miss it.There's even a large sign at the entrance showing the commercial aircraft that normally use the field. You are actually quite close to where they normally start their takeoff roll. Fitz
