AI A/C misplaced

Featured Replies

I realize that I can find some AI aircrafts in airports where they are not supposed to be.Example: Bend (OR) airport KRDMOne PAI Vietnam aircraft taking offOne Styrian AC and one Brazilian AC on parking spots.I checked the KRDM airport in the Flightplans file for PAI and only Horizon Airlines should be there. Can anybody give me a clue what and where I should search to find what is going on ?I don't really care about this error as I prefer these mistakes than an empty airport. But I would like to find out why.I already saw these errors on other airports. The errors for KRDM are at least consistent with the type of AC that Horizon uses.

Make sure you have the TrafficToolBox.dll in your modules folder - it's available in the Traffic Tool Box SDK from Microsoft. http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimul...wnloads_sdk.aspWhen the "rouge" aircraft appears - pause - open the explorer and find out what traffic file the aircraft is located in.The issue you describe could have a few possibile causes which you can check.(1) FS uses the title= line in the aircraft.cfg line to find the AI aircraft. Any duplicate anywhere in FS can confuse the program. And Murphy's Law guarantees the wrong aircraft will appear in FS.Make sure the title= lines are unique.(2) A misnumbered section in the fltsim.x numbering in the aircraft.cfg file can cause the program to select the wrong aircraft repaint.(3) Occasionally when copying fltsim.x sections to add new repaints - we all forget to change the texture= line - thus pointing the aircraft information at the wrong repaint.(4) Check to ensure that the correct aircraft.txt AC# is used for each flight plan. The numbers must be unique within each aircraft.txt file.(5) The MRAI tool to create flight plans occasionally puts aircraft into the wrong airports. This is due to the use of IATA codes for airports and the duplication of many codes around the world. That is why people who use that tool must manually inspect the airports list to ensure only the correct airports for the airline are used.I don't see any aircraft commonality between the Horizon (QXE) and Vietnam Airlines (HVN) aircraft. Horizon used the Dash 8B into KRDM in the flight plans I can find and HVN flies the ATR-75 in the PAI package. The now closed Stryian Spirit Airlines used to fly CRJ jets.ACA2005 is a very good tool to find problems in the aircraft.cfg files. http://aifs.pvdveen.net/You've mentioned the PAI HVN aircraft - does this come from the PAI package, or did you add the repaints and flight plans manually.Knowing the source of each airline would be very useful if we need to continue troubleshooting this issue.

Thank you for your reply. After lot of searching I found out what was going out there. It is "normal". For one reason or another some of my aircrafts have been taken into account in the GA-Traffic application. The GA-Traffic generated a flight plan for these aircrafts. Randomly. This gives New Zealand B1900 D flights from KRDM (Redmond OR) to CYVR or CYQQ. As I said, I don't really mind that as I prefer to have busy airports with strange airlines than empty airports. But I wnated to know why. The PAI Vietnam mistery is still not solved but it is probably the same origin or one of the reasons you mentioned. If I really want to eliminate the inconsistencies I just need to remove and reinstall GA-Traffic.I did write an error saying that the AC were consistent. They are NOT.

With the GA program - the aircraft selected as GA are selected by the empty weight in the aircraft.cfg.I've found it pretty much essential to temporarily remove all aircraft which I do not want as GA from the aircraft folder before running the GA-Traffic program.Flyable as well as AI.Just move them over to a temporary folder - run the GA-Traffic program - then move them back.ESPECIALLY the classic Vickers Vimy, Piper Cup, Curtiss Jenny, DH-88 Comet, Lockheed Vega and Ryan NYP

Thank you for the tip.
