March 26, 20188 yr I never ran across this before. I have completed installing all of my CalClassic scenery and am now trying to position aircraft into spots at some of the airports. To do this I move the airplane to the airport and the slew it into the position I want in front of a hangar or building and then save it. The problem is after I have done that I can't turn the slew off. It stays on. What I am doing now is exiting the sim and going to .FLT file of the plane I just saved and scrolling down to the slew line and changing the TRUE to FALSE. Then everything is as it should be. Have any of you run into this before and is there a fix for the problem? Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
March 26, 20188 yr A sticky "Y" key on the keyboard? Forgive me for asking, but the way I read your post Noel, is that you appeared to have saved your flight without turning slew off. The emphasis is mine... 1 hour ago, birdguy said: ...To do this I move the airplane to the airport and the slew it into the position I want in front of a hangar or building and then save it... Another possibly dumb question (I'm good at those!) is have you tried not saving the flight? Just slew to a position and then light her up and taxy around for a bit. Again apologies if you've already tried that.. March 27, 20188 yr Author Yes Mark, I save the flight while it's in the slew mode because I can then exit the simulator, pull up the saved flight and edit the FLT flight and change the slew mode from true to false. Everything works fine after that. The button isn't stuck because everytime I press it, it just cycles through the slew modes. It just won't turn off in the off mode. I can't start the engines in the slew mode. Besides the stick and rudder controls are assigned to the slew functions in the slew mode. It's not the controls or keyboard because the slew turns off in both FSX-SE and P3Dv4. It's only a problem in FS2004. Noel Edited March 27, 20188 yr by birdguy The tires are worn. March 27, 20188 yr In FS2004 you'll need to toggle Slew Mode off BEFORE you save the flight, as Mark suggested. Tim Wright "The older I get, the better I was..."

March 28, 20188 yr Author Tim, I CAN'T turn the slew off before saving the flight. It won't turn off. SLEW keeps blinking in the bottom right hand corner no matter how many times I press the slew key. It's an FS2004 problem because the same controller and keyboard work fine in the slew mose in FSX and P3D. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. March 28, 20188 yr Try deleting and re-assigning the Slew command to the letter Y, it sounds like that function has got corrupted somehow. Tim Wright "The older I get, the better I was..."
March 28, 20188 yr Author Thanks for the suggestion Tim. I'll give it a try. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
March 28, 20188 yr Author We live in a mysterious universe indeed! I cranked up SF4 to try Tiim's suggestion and apparently the problem took care of itself. It works fine now. Maybe the spirit that lives in that mysterious black box beside my desk had the flu or something. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
