Hello @ll

I have installed the library in my P3D V4.2 simulator by using the external add-on.xml method.

  1. I've downloaded the package for "Manual Installation"
  2. Unzipped the contents into a new folder: "C:\Users\...\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\BVAI"
  3. Used my P4AO tool to create this XML file (C:\Users\...\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\BVAI\add-on.xml)
Quote

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<SimBase.Document Type="AddOnXml" version="4,0" id="add-on">
  <AddOn.Name>BVAI</AddOn.Name>
  <AddOn.Description />
  <AddOn.Component>
    <Category>SimObjects</Category>
    <Path>SimObjects\Airplanes</Path>
    <Name>BVAI aircraft</Name>
  </AddOn.Component>
  <AddOn.Component>
    <Category>Effects</Category>
    <Path>Effects</Path>
  </AddOn.Component>
  <AddOn.Component>
    <Category>Texture</Category>
    <Path>Texture</Path>
    <Type>GLOBAL</Type>
  </AddOn.Component>
</SimBase.Document>

That's it. Models will automatically be present in P3D. And if I don't need them, I can just disable the whole package (in the P3D Addon menu or with P4AO).

Don't let the XML intimidate you, with the P4AO this is all just point&click. No coding or editing of files is required.

Best regards

They also provide an automatic installer which makes the addon process for you ;)

And the big advantage comes to update only new files automatically.
