June 14, 200619 yr Do the following STOP errors mean anything to anyone? I have a very odd situation: Whenever I load a flight to Agadir (GMAD) via the Create a Flight screen in FS9.1. my PC crashes to a blue screen as terrain loading starts. If I load a flight to the same airport but via a saved flight plan, it loads up fine however. Very odd, to me at least. I haven't made any hardware changes to my system. I have Tony Agramont's Morocco scenery installed, though it's never caused me any problems before. In Event Viewer Errors ('Event 1003') are shown under System - System Error (102). The parameters are similar each time, apart from 3.:Error code 1000008e, parameter1 c000008e, parameter2 20f3faac, parameter3 f1684a54, parameter4 00000000.Error code 1000008e, parameter1 c000008e, parameter2 20f3faac, parameter3 f1223a54, parameter4 00000000.Error code 1000008e, parameter1 c000008e, parameter2 20f3faac, parameter3 f1955a54, parameter4 00000000.Does this information give any lead as to what might be going on going on? I can't begin to think how to troubleshoot this. Thanks,Martin Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
June 15, 200619 yr Hi Martin,Not sure if this is any help or not. I googled "Error code 1000008e, parameter1 c000008e, parameter2 20f3faac" and got the following hit:http://www.theeldergeek.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=18345Reading the thread, it seems in his case there MAY be a problem with bad memory.
June 15, 200619 yr Author I'd 'Googled' the error code too, but didn't see this particular thread. Thanks. I had (sound) problems with the laptop when I bought it and eventually Dell put in a new M/B and all new RAM. I could try testing my RAM again - last time, I got no errors at all.To be honest though, I get the impression that there is something in my FS scenery setup that is doing this (though what could cause the PC to crash, rather than just FS9, is a mystery to me). I only get a crash when I load up a flight to start at Agadir. If I choose, Marrakesh, for instance, everything is fine. And, as I say, if I load up a flight starting from Agadir via a saved flight, again there is no problem.Maybe the 'answer' is just not to load flights from GMAD via 'Create a Flight'!M.
