Coordinates in output files

Featured Replies

Hi,

First of all, thank you so much for an amazing piece of software.

I am currently learning how to use an aircraft where the flight plans are entered manually via the Upfront Controller (UFC) and the coordinates need to be entered in DDM format (Degrees, Decimal Minutes).  In Little Navmap I have changed the units in the settings to display DDM, and it does show DDM coordinates when you click on the waypoint to view the information for example, but when exported as a pln file the coordinates are shown in Degrees, Minutes, Seconds format.  Is there any way to change this, or another way I can export the coordinates of my flight plan with the waypoints in DDM format?  I tried a few different file outputs, but there seemed to be none with DDM coordinates.

Cheers,

Hi Scott,

you can copy the flight plan as CSV into the clipboard (Ctrl+A and Ctrl+C in the flight plan table). This CSV includes the coordinates too but only in decimal degrees. You could use Excel or LibreOffice Calc to convert these to DDM format.

Does the UFC have its own flight plan format? Maybe I can add this to the next version.

Hi Alex,

OK thanks.  It's not a big deal.  I can convert them as you say, or if I leave the program running I can get the coordinates in DDM format from the information window.

The coordinates have to be manually entered in the UFC at the moment.  The aircraft is the Milviz T-38C, which is currently in beta testing.  The devs are planning on adding some way to save the flight plans, so I suppose there will also be some way to import them.

Thanks again.  I really love the program.

Cheers,

Scott
