June 18, 200619 yr When flying the Airbus A320-200 using the autopilot, does the altimeter need to be reset manually when passing through the Transition Altitude of 18,000 ft. or does the auto pilot do that for you. I'm new to flying big jets and using the auto pilot so I apologize if this question seems a bit simple. Bill
June 18, 200619 yr I'm only familiar with the PSS Panel but the A320 is my favourite vehicle. You can't use the B key with this plane, you've got to listen to the Alt calls and manually adjust. When though 18,000 you have to pull (right click) to get "STD" altimeter reading. June 18, 200619 yr Moderator Puttaround,The Transition Altitude of 18000ft only applies to FAA airspace - effectively the USA. If you fly in Europe or many other pars of the world then the TA varies from country to country and even airport to airport in the UK.The default ATC in FS9 has its fans but for a more realistic experience you might consider Radar Contact v4. June 18, 200619 yr Like Max, I'm not familiar with your A320-200 but for the planes that I fly, I must reset the Altimeter manually as I pass the transition altitude. The "B" key works for this purpose on most panels. R-
June 19, 200619 yr Author Thank you everyone for your replies. The B key doesn't work with my panel but I was able to set it manually with your input. Bill
