Isn't this a classic case of blurries? I'd start by a) limiting FPS internally, then, if necessary, b) lowering settings.

Yes, good point, that should have been tried at first I had thought.

Dear Steve,

I have a i7-6700k running at 4.5 with HT OFF. I would like to try the same procedure mention above but which would be my AM=? to start with and enable HT?

HT enabled AM=253, HT disabled No AM.

You are attempting to use Process Lasso?

We need only worry where the addon exe apps go in relation to the main P3D tasks. You avoid the first core - with more than four cores we can do more.

Only use PL *after* proving the AM setup of addons by the use of the batch files.

The batch method is very easy and is a proper test of affinity - unchecking CPU boxes in Task Manager is not the same outcome.

There are several ways to do it, some may not work depending on security measures in the system, try the first.

Once the setup has been proved to work you can then move them onto PL and retest. PL is complex and requires proper setting.

Smoothest sim - we corral our addon exe apps away from the main sim tasks - that's how it's done.

All the best

Steve
