Slew mode out of control

Recommended Posts

I've really had it with P3D's slew mode nonsense. Same hardware as a multi-year FSX install, all settings and control assignments have been checked, re-checked, re-checked, and checked again.

EVERY time the Y key is pressed the aircraft goes wildly out of control at high mach numbers no matter how quickly the pause and freeze movement key is pressed. Really LM, how is it possible that this was introduced? Aircraft are minutely controllable yet slew mode is convinced of full control inputs.

Controls aren't spiking, dead zones are dialed in, no axes or joystick/throttle buttons are assigned to any slew commands. Mouse and Mouse Yoke similarly have no slew assignments. I've spent hours tracking an unrelated problem that requires me to slew the sim, yet a press of the Y sends me around the globe in seconds.

Have you calibrated your Yoke ? Assignments can be set but calibration out of wack can cause the slew mode to go skew wiff. Are you using a CH yoke ? you don't mention the brand. If it's a CH eclipse, give it a good wack on the top. Known issue with the eclipse, and a good hard wack fixes it.

Dan,

I had the same in FSX. Since I have P3D, it disappeared somehow. Anyway, you can try to disable the joystick (Ctrl + K), then slew, and then again press Ctrl + K to re-enable the joystick.
