Service Based Failures

Featured Replies

I fly the B738 and 9 in P3DV4, and I was looking to see if it was possible to fly different airlines but maintain the same timers for the failures so I wasn't starting again from zero.

I noticed the folder "D:\P3D V4\PMDG\PMDG 737 NGX\Aircraft" where the aircraft .ini files are. In the files I noticed 2 sections of timers;

[Failure Groups]
Active=1
Run Timer.0=243518.359375 (etc)

[Failure Items]
Run Timer.0=243518.359375 10931914.000000 (etc)

Is it possible to move these 2 sections between the different .ini aircraft files? I know how complex these PMDG aircraft are so I'm reluctant to test it in case something becomes corrupt.

It's based on aircraft registration, and you'll cause issues if you start changing registrations when a livery has one defined. In short, you'll start from zero in each new plane.

Yes you can,

There are two ways you can do it, both require manual work

1) Today you flown NXXX1, so you have a NXXX1.ini file created in the above directory. If tomorrow you want to fly NXXX2 then you can rename the ini as NXXX2.ini and start the sim. By doing that you would have all the settings and displays of NXXX1 in NXXX2

2) If you are flying and want different liveries to have different options but the same failures timers, then you can copy everything below [Failure Groups] from NXXX1.ini to NXXX2,ini and when NXXX2 loads in the sim that plane will have the same failure timers as NXXX1.

This is how I moved my times from FSX NGX to the P3Dv3 one and later to v4.
