April 26, 20188 yr Hello guys, I just purchased pilot2atc and I probably should have tried it a bit longer except than testing if it ran and if it recognized my voice, but I did buy it and love the program...... Now I am having some issues though, first off.... I use prepar3d with both nl2000 scenery and the flytampa amsterdam schiphol airport scenery. When I request to taxi to the active runway, pilot2atc send me there, but schiphol is a big airport, so when taxiing I come across other planes on my taxiway, just taxiing in the oposite direction, so half the time I have to go into the grass to let them pass. Now I think that it might have something to do with the scenery, so I allready deleted the NL2000 scenery, but it still happens, the setup tool from tampa also warns that you should only open a specific amount of runways by making either north east south west active, but this doesn't make any difference also, atleast not with my problems. The other thing I'm thinking about maybe the taxiways are setup incorrectly so I have to check them all through taxi maintenance, but even when I fly in flight simulator since the 80s, I don't consider myself an expert, especially when it comes to taxiing...... I did use the taxi help lines for a very long time, I still use them on a regular base and one of the selling points was that this program gave you a live map with the taxi way drawn out, anyway enough about that, the thing is I don't know all the rules for taxiing, like what decides which direction comes first and such, so I don't really feel like messing with the taxi maintenance button at all. Another thing is, I notice that even when this program is active, the default p3d atc is also communicating with me, could it perhapse be that the ai planes are being sent on path A by p3d's atc and that I am stuck with path B from pilot2atc. There is nothing wrong with that, because that's generally what I want, but may it be that the standard ATC makes use of the same taxiways but in different directions as pilot2ATC? One last thing could still be the case, there is one more addon that could be interfering with this and that is Ultimate Traffic Live, which basically gives me a bunch of AI traffic, so the immersion is even better than flying the sim in multiplayer. Sorry for the long story, but I hope that I have been clear about this and that someone is willing to help me.
April 26, 20188 yr Commercial Member The problem you are describing sounds like more of an AI Traffic issue than a scenery issue. Other than being able to import taxiway and gate information, P2A does not interact with the SIM scenery. In the case of P3D or FSX, it reads that data from files created by running MakeRunways, as described in the User's Guide. Ultimate Traffic Live seems to not always stop its AI Traffic to let you pass. In fact, I regularly have UT Live put aircraft on the runway for takeoff while I'm on short final. So about all you can do about the traffic on the taxiway is go around it or through it. You should turn P3D's Voices off to stop the P3D ATC from interfering. On the Sound Settings page, uncheck the Voice box and turn the Voice volume all the way down. Dave
April 26, 20188 yr Author Reporting this issue to Ultimate traffic doesn't help either? I mean if it's caused by their product they should atleast know about that, so they can offer me a better solution? I am sorry, but going around or through them is not really the solution I was looking for, so I am gonna ask on the Ultimate traffic forum.
April 27, 20188 yr Author Tried it again with the standard atc, think there is a huge difference there, because when I taxi my plane to the runway and an ai plane threatens to come on my taxiway, the standard atc tells me to hold for traffic. I know there is ai traffic detection in your program, but is this only in the air, because when I use your program I don't get the hold for traffic call from atc?
April 27, 20188 yr Commercial Member Holds for traffic right now are limited to holding at the runway for crossing or takeoff. Holding for traffic on taxiways while heading out or in is on the list for future enhancement, but not implemented yet. Dave
April 27, 20188 yr Author OK then I definately looking forward to that, until then I will just shut down Ultimate Traffic Live until I am up in the air 🙂 I tried to disable collision detection, but that was for everything, so that just feels wrong or makes the sim real easy when it comes to landing your plane. Or is there some hidden setting that would only disable collision from ai planes? Thanks for letting me know and I am really looking forward to this future enhancement 😉
