Dave-Pilot2ATC's post in Will SayIt options become more complete? was marked as the answerHi Dom.
Thanks for trying the software.
Yes to both of your questions. I do plan to continue to add to SayIt, with the DirectTo being the top asked for item. And I recognize the need for the lists to be better organized, so eventually, they will get better.
Thanks again for your suggestions.

Dave-Pilot2ATC's post in Set starting gate? was marked as the answerYou should be able to set the starting gate in your SIM.
Pilot2ATC does not manipulate the location of your aircraft or the AI Traffic.
For taxi instructions after landing, select the desired gate as describe by Alpha117 above. The flight plan itself does not need to know anything about gates.
If you want to add SIDs/STARs in Pilot2AATC, then you should import a flight plan with only the Departure and Destination airports and any Route waypoints (those that will be between the last SID waypoint and the first SAR waypoint).
If you are flying between major cities, then the best way to set up your flight plan is using the FPln Import feature described starting on p.37 of the User Guide. If not, you can enter just the 2 airports and then add SIDs and STARs. Pilot2ATC will recommend the best match given the route of flight.
Hope this helps.

Dave-Pilot2ATC's post in Exceptions when setting alt and GS was marked as the answerThanks for the flight plan error report. I'll look into that one.
On the X-Plane crashing, the only thing I can think of are the things you mention - CPU/Memory resources, drivers or the like. P2A does not interact with X-Plane in any way, other than through XPUIPC.

Dave-Pilot2ATC's post in ATC: "Flight the RIIVR2 arrival" was marked as the answerPilot2ATC uses the standard terminology which is:
If told to Descend via xxxx arrival, then you are to fly both the lateral and vertical aspects of the STAR. This would be the most common clearance and you would not get further altitude clearances during the STAR.
If told to Fly the xxxx arrival, then you are cleared to fly the lateral aspects of the STAR and will be given assigned altitudes by the controller. In the real world, this might be to provide vertical spacing with other traffic. They might then clear you to "Continue Descent via the xxxx arrival" at which time you are cleared to follow the vertical restrictions of the STAR as well as the lateral.

Dave-Pilot2ATC's post in Klas to klax no clearance to descend was marked as the answerJoel, did you get clearance for the ILS or other approach? If so, that is clearance to follow the altitude restrictions in the approach.
Unless you are getting vectors, ATC will clear you for a STAR, which will give you clearance to fly those altitudes if the clearance is "Descend via the xxxx arrival". Otherwise, they might give you step descents during the STAR and clear you to "Fly the xxxx arrival".
When you reach the approach IAF, or slightly before, you will get clearance for the ILS or other approach, which gives you clearance to descend as needed, following the altitude restrictions of the approach.
Hope this helps,
Dave

Dave-Pilot2ATC's post in Descent Problem was marked as the answerMickael,
I would need to see the log file in order to diagnose this problem. It could be any of a number of issues causing the descent instructions to stop, including some that are intentional. For example, if you were cleared to 10,000 ft, and then cleared for an Approach or STAR, then that clearance would have been for the published altitudes and route of the Approach.
Giving the pilot descents at their discretion is not currently an option, but I have put it on the list of possible future features. You can request a new altitude at any time, today, but that is not the same thing.
Thanks,
Dave

Dave-Pilot2ATC's post in Frequency problem was marked as the answerThis is a known intermittent problem.
It probably will not happen again on that flight, but it could. Still working on a fix.
Thanks

Dave-Pilot2ATC's post in No SID in clearance was marked as the answerHello.
If you had "ATC Assigns SID" option checked, you should have been given a SID if the active runway at the departure airport had a SID that took you in the proper direction. In other words, there are circumstances where you would not get a SID, even if there are some for that airport.
What was your route of flight? That may help.
Also,I have Private Messaged you to get you to email me some additional information so we can figure out the problem.
Thanks,
Dave

Dave-Pilot2ATC's post in Chain too quick sentence was marked as the answerThis happens when certain events occur together or near each other.
In these cases, just reply to the last instruction given on the radio, but be sure to follow all the instructions.
I'm trying to catch these situations and combine all the instructions into one radio call, but there are still some that slip past.

Dave

Dave-Pilot2ATC's post in VFR cruise altitudes was marked as the answerSteve,
Thanks for the PIREP.
I found the errors in the altitude calculations. It should not have let you plan 8500 as that is barely above field elevation. At any rate that should work in the next update.
Also, I found an error where the initial call to tower is not being handled and will get that fixed for the next update also.
Thanks,
Dave

Dave-Pilot2ATC's post in Don't have "Sound File" folder in my installation was marked as the answerThis was an oversight on the update build I'm afraid. I've attached it for you here. Just create a sub-folder in the Pilot2ATC folder named Sounds and place this file in it. You can also get similar sound effect files on the internet and place them in the folder and point to them in the Config settings.
Sorry for the inconvenience
Dave
PS: Some cannot see the attached file (including me). Likely a browser issue. If so, and you need them, send me an email admin at pilot2atc dot com.

Dave-Pilot2ATC's post in Save & Exit A Flight was marked as the answerP2ATC does not really save flights. However, you can accomplish the same goal by doing the following:
Closing Down
1) Be sure your flight plan is validated and saved before you exit
2) Save the flight in the simulator so you can resume it
3) Make Note of the Frequency you are on and Controller you're talking to
4) Close P2ATC and the Sim if you want
Starting Up
1) Get the Sim back to where you want to pick up the flight
2) Start P2ATC and Load the Flight Plan
3) File the Flight Plan
4) Be sure you are on the same frequency as when you left
5) Make the appropriate call to the controller. For Example, if you were en-route with Center, make a call like "Center, Beech 1VB level at Twelve Thousand"
P2ATC will figure out what Route segment you are nearest, respond to the call and pick up where you left off.
You can also use this capability to do repetitive practice of approaches by shooting an approach and then repositioning your aircraft to start a new one and make the call to Approach Control.
Hope this helps,
Dave
