Dassault Falcon......Where?

Featured Replies

If I remember correctly, there was an incorrect inlet parameter that caused the poor performance in the FS9 version, found in the aircraft.cfg. The fix escapes me but can probably be found here with a forum search.Regards,Leon

I'm not sure if you intended to reply to my post specifically, but the performance I was talking about referred to the speed at which VC gauges update.. not the plane's performance in flight :)

VC BURRIES ??..The guages are clear and sgharp as are the conrol yokes, but the rest of the VC panel is blurry. This is the FS9 download. Any suggestions how to clear it up ??? or is just the way its gonna be ???.2002 was just fine.Any help appreciated.JimMesa, Arizona"PARKED AT FALCON FIELD"

I think the VC textures look a bit blurry here and there because they are based on photographs (or atleast they look like they are). I've been casually working on a "hand-drawn" version of the main VC panel (just for personal use) and I think it looks a bit sharper than the photoreal one does.

If you want a Biz jet with more guts, seach for the Citation X. If you like it, you might also get the Eaglesoft version payware... Personally I prefer the Citation, because once saw one at KFUL when the Pilots landed there and bought them lunch. The owner went into Anahiem on business while they waited. They were former Soviet Pilots, a Husband and Wife team. They had flown the Citation from Russia to SFO, then down to KFUL, and were going on to Denver, then Chicago. Spoke excellent english, maybe better than I do. ;-) Never knew before that the Citation could land at KFUL with a 3000 ft runway. As it is 2 miles from me, and my favorite field, had never tried it. Since then, have never flown any other Jet. It's the fastest non-military jet we can fly.... Means I can make longer flights in less time, and land at smaller GA fields. Less traffic, though I do use GA-Traffic to boost the numbers, dont have to wait in lines as long as at commercial fields. And have all the GA aircraft available for my own short flights. Between the Citation, B1900, and Waco, it keeps me as busy as I want to be. Bob

Thanks, RTH, for the perfect fix to the Dassault Falcon's "lack of guts", as I called it. I changed the parameter in the aircraft config...... "thrust_scalar = 1.0" to merely "thrust_scalar = 1.5", and this wonderful bizjet gets upt to a much more comfortable takeoff speed quicker, and it climbs beautifully (had it at 2000fpm), and cruises easily at 295+ knots. The jet feels a bit more modern now. Thanks again for the advice.

yes there was an incorrect parameter in the aircraft.cfg. Make sure under "TurbineEngineData" section you have:inlet_area =1.4000The original value was too small (a typo). don't change anything else.regards.
