June 26, 200619 yr Okay, I know this was discussed on some forum some time in the past, but I've searched for hours and can't find it again, so here goes:After much hesitation I downloaded 9.1 upgrade, put it in the FS9 folder, read the warning, then closed my eyes and clicked again. A message came up saying I already have 9.1 and the installation closed. Now I know I don't have 9.1, I never installed it, in the help screen it still says 9.0, and it's still missing those bridges. Why would it think I have 9.1?And here's a strange clue: After I had downloaded the update, I opened my FS9 folder and while I was pondering whether to drag the update into the FS9 folder, I noticed that the 9.1 update and the update read me were ALREADY in the FS9 folder! I have no idea how they got there, but I think it could be a clue to why the program thinks I've upgraded when I haven't.The hesitation, of course, was because of the warning about 3rd party downloads. When I went to do the re-install (that's another long story) I stupidly forgot to put in the update before adding Ultimate Terrain, Ultimate Traffic, a whole bunch of FS Genesis meshes, BEV, and a little bit more. Any comments on whether I'm making a mistake installing 9.1 at this point- assuming, of course, I can even get the #### thing to install? Thanks folks, it's great becoming part of such a helpful and passionate (or should I say addicted and obsessed?) community!Robert
June 26, 200619 yr Oops- one mistake- I found the update uninstall file along with the read me in the FS9 folder, not the update itself.
June 27, 200619 yr If you only bought FS9 recently, it comes as version 9.1.Gry 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
June 27, 200619 yr No, I bought it over a year ago, and in any case, if that were so, the Help/About screen wouldn't say 9.0, and the missing bridges would be there.
June 27, 200619 yr Moderator Delete the Backup folder... Then you can install v9.1 upgrade. It really isn't all that difficult to install... ;) Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
June 27, 200619 yr Thank you Bill, that did the trick, and so far no noticable problems with 3rd party add-ons.Have a great night!Robert
