May 24, 20188 yr I realize this a a bit of a newbie question.... I am having trouble descending with permission of the P2A ATC. During the initial flight plan, I include both my proposed SID and STAR, which gets programmed into the FMC. While flying I usually receive confirmation of the STAR and receive permission to fly it. When the FMC begins the descent, I usually receive another message from the P2A ATC that I am too low and I need to return to my cruise altitude. So, if I receive permission to follow the SID, do I also need to ask permission for this lower altitude as well? Shouldn't this be assumed and happen automatically? Ron
May 24, 20188 yr Commercial Member When told to "Descend via the xxxx arrival" you have permission to follow the altitude restrictions in the STAR and descend. You will get this clearance slightly before the first STAR waypoint, or when you reach the TOD if that is before the first STAR waypoint. If you would send me the log file for a flight that you are getting the too low message, I will have a look and see what's going wrong. Please email to me at [email protected]. Log files are located in: C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\P2A_200\Logs where <UserName> is your PC user name. Portions of the path may be hidden by default, so be sure Windows Explorer has Show Hidden Items checked in the View tab. A new one is created each time you start Pilot2ATC, so if you take the most recent one when you have the error, you should have the correct one. Dave
