May 30, 20188 yr The default FSX ship that sails around the Niagara River below Niagara Falls has a wake that goes straight up into the air. Is there a fix for that? I have Nielsen's World Wide Shipping that has fixes for his ships that did that in FSX. But this is a default ship (I think) that just makes circles below the falls. May 30, 20188 yr Administrators It's caused by a faulty effects file, possibly corrupted. I wonder if this file from the Library would fix that? gauges_recovery_fsx.zip This is normally used to fix black contrails and other corrupted effects. May 31, 20188 yr Author I downloaded and ran the recover program Charlie but that didn't work. Thanks anyway. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
May 31, 20188 yr Administrators Bummer! I think the offending effect is called fx_wake_1. Have you looked through your Simobjects/boats to figure out exactly which boat/ferry it is? Have you seen any other boat or ship with the vertical wake? Charlie AronAVSIM Board of Directors-ADMIN/Moderator-RegistrarJust going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. May 31, 20188 yr Author It's the only one I have come across that has the vertical wake. But I've not been seeking any out. It's a default ship I think since it's only around Niagara Falls. None of the other default ships or boats have them. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
