I'm not sure if this is a qualified question but I'm just wondering about this auto generated approach at the lower point MUN:

Is a sharp turn like at MUN even possible? I thought a 90 degree turn is quite tough to fly...

Depending on the autopilot/gps in the aircraft, most can handle this type turn by starting the turn early.  If not, they will overshoot and get back on course.

If it's part of an approach, it could be that there will be a manual transition (ATC will give radar vectors to final at some point).
