First of all please pardon me for ignorance. I have downloaded update for 777 and 737NGX from op centre. It shows that my version is up to date a. Do i need to uninstall 777 and 737 and reinstall for updates to be active?

No. From the moment OC says that you haev the latest version then you are all set
