Target application?  P3D, FSX, XPlane?

I think I'd wait a month or two more and see how the 9xxx series CPUs and the 2080Ti pan out.  A 4790K to an 8700k, or a 1080Ti from two Titans in SLI isn't gonna exactly water your eyes.

I would wait.  Those Titans are no slouches, and P3D4 works well in SLI.  The 4790K is still a very capable CPU, too.

Might just be that P3Dv5 shows up with PBR and takes advantage of ray tracing, making a 2080Ti or later a much more dramatic step up.

Regards

mikeymike,

I would still wait. w6kd, I believe, has given you some sound advice. A lot is happening in our hardware world at the moment and regardless of your monitor you have a reasonable system for now.

Be patient my friend good and better things are coming.

I don't think you will have to wait all that long matey ... 6 months tops. I wish though, that I had your years mate.  As an aged pensioner I feel I am going to miss out on so very much just when it is getting particularly interesting.

Cheers
