Flight1 B200 messed up sim

Featured Replies

A couple of days ago I purchased the Flight1 King Air product For P3Dv4.3. After doing so I opened up the aircraft for a test spin and noticed that even on my beefy system, my frames were all of the sudden notchy and frequent pauses in between frames. I thought it was understandable as this is a study level aircraft so I didn’t think anything of it. The day after I installed it, I decided to uninstall the product just to see if it was that aircraft really causing the issue but even after uninstalling my frames are still notchy. But the thing is, they were butter smooth before the product was on my computer. The king air changed something but idk what it messed with. Any help would be appreciated as I’ve already clean installed the Microsoft 2015 redistribution files, and clean installed my graphics card with no luck. And now whenever I try to start a flight with another aircraft, my sim crashes after the load screen. I’m stumped as to what the heck happened to my sim.... no response in the Flight1 forums

Start by telling us about your system.

Yessir!

Asus Z170A Motherboard

Intel i7-6700K @4.00GHz

MSI GTX1060OC 6GB Gaming X

Corsair Vengeance 32 Gigs RAM

W/D 2TB Black HDD @7200RPM

Windows 10

I will note that after I cleanly installed my Nvidia driver to see if that would help, I still had the same issue. So then I followed the Prepar3D debug steps and wiped my sim clean of any add-ons and manually added each one back and still no luck. I cannot believe that the B200 messed with something on my sim it’s literally like a nightmare over here. I read a few posts in their forums and one guy claims he got a virus from the download, another claims he had weird stutters like I do now after he downloaded the product... I’d hate to just blurt out not to trust Flight1 because I have UTL from Flight1 and it has given me no issues. But IDK.... my sim is really messed up right now and it’s because of my downloading their King Air so it must have changed a value somewhere but I don’t know what it changed...

Your system is ok - should run P3D with modest settings. Main thing, you say it was working fine before the install - have you tried either a repair install of P3d or a complete reinstall?

If it were a common problem with the B200 there'd be many more reports so it could be something specific to your system. Hopefully a P3D reinstall will clear the problem.

And, for the record, no one got a virus from the B200 - the F1 installer quite frequently gets a false positive from several AV programs. Nothing to worry about.

Welllllll those two options was my last resort. I was dreading doing that. But yes my frames were a smooth 60fps in most situations before I downloaded the aircraft. Now my frames are knotchy and stutters. Even after I uninstalled the aircraft. So I guess it’s bloody time to just wipe my sim and rebuild it. Again. Lol

The issue is fixed. It turns out I had a DirectX issue that Windows notifies me about. After it ran a self test and cleared the issue I ran P3D and the random stutters were gone and the random crashes too.
