June 8, 200520 yr Interesting Article. Never owned a Mac, as I always thought they were too pricey with their little monopoly and all.I read the article, and here is what I got out of it.Apple doesn't play well with IBM, gets ticked off....Apple doesn't play well with Motorola, gets ticked off.....Apple apparently refuses to allow clones thus protecting their hyped pricing strategy. Therefore Apple doesn't play well with others. :-)Well, maybe this relationship with Intel will buck that trend and work out for them.If they are successful, maybe prices on Windows computers will decline as well.I also read an interesting comparison article here on their current offerings.http://www.anandtech.com/mac/showdoc.aspx?i=2436Regards,JoeGrab My FREEWARE Voice recognition Profiles here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=58334]Cessna 172 Voice Profile[/a][a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=60740]FSD Avanti Voice Profile[/a].You will need the main FREEWARE Flight Assistant program to use it, get it here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=genutils&DLID=39661]Flight Assistant 2.2[/a] CryptoSonar on Twitch & YouTube.
June 9, 200520 yr Horrible idea. Now what's going to be the difference between mac and a PC? They both have tons of software issues, now they basically use the same hardware, their OSes are similiar, and the chipsets are going to be the same too? And this spells the end to backwards compatibility probably as well. Just another stupid decision for MAC which shows why they only have less than a 10% market share
June 9, 200520 yr I always thought that one of the coolest features of recent Macs was the 64 bit PowerPC CPU that is also used in IBM supercomputers. I never owned a mac, but I always thought I would buy one if I got rich. But now that they are switching to old boring Intel, the attraction is fading.-
