October 4, 20187 yr Hey all, I have been having issues for about the last week where my FSX-SE has been crashing at random times, sometimes during a flight and sometimes when loading. The reason is always g2d.dll. I was looking for solutions online but none of them seem to have worked. Can you please help. Here is the crash report: Faulting application name: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.62615.0, time stamp: 0x559f9a9a Faulting module name: g2d.dll, version: 10.0.62615.0, time stamp: 0x559f9ab4 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00087d06 Faulting process id: 0x3374 Faulting application start time: 0x01d45b87c5401103 Faulting application path: D:\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\fsx.exe Faulting module path: D:\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\g2d.dll Report Id: 8d9e7b41-c536-441b-944c-c60e97ed3aba Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: Thanks, Blake
October 5, 20187 yr This indicates settings (fsx and/or video card) are set too high and/or a bad module being loaded by the dll.xml. More info, page 34, AVSIM CTD Guide. You can return the fsx.cfg to the default by renaming it to fsx.off. A new one will be rebuilt with default settings. The dll.xml loads several modules too and one of them may be corrupted or missing. Rename the dll.xml to dll.off. A new one will NOT be rebuilt in FSX. If this fixes your problem then you need to find the module that caused the error. Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource!
