Hi Dave:

I came across the Amazon Polly service that allow you to use Amazon's  text to speech engine via their published api .  I believe these voices are from their Ivona purchase a year or so back.  They have a free tier that allow you to convert up to 5 millions characters per month and $4 month for every million characters after that.    This may be a way to add several voices to P2A without the expense of buying voice packs outright.  I believe X-plane is also using this system for their upcoming 11.30 update.  

 

I am not sure if this is a feature we could add to the P2A wish list but I thought I would throw it out there.

There is no plan to offer a version of P2A using a different speech engine.

However, if you want free voices, you can get them via Windows.  See the pinned thread Microsoft Voices in P2A.
