P3Dv4 and Airport Inspector and Editor

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am not sure if this is the correct forum, but I am having a problem with updating the ILS data in P3Dv4 using the SORS Airport Inspector.

If I select/search for a "Stock Airport (P3Dv4), enter the Airport ICAO Identifier "OMDB" and press select I get a warning "The file folder is write protected and will not allow any edition"!

My question: How do I get rid of the WRITE PROTECTION of a folder?

Thanks for help

If you installed P3D under C:\Program Files,  then there is not much you can do without compromising Windows System Security. (It can be done, but not advised)
Like many others, C:\Program Files is a protected system folder, managed by the system. Even disabling UAC won't work most times.

If your P3D install is in another folder (A user created one) then You will have to check Your permissions under Folder -> Properties -> Security.
Best bet is to reinstall P3D in a user created Folder, like C:\Prepar3d v4 (or any other drive you have)

Thanks Ramon,

I wasn't aware that \Program Files is a protected folder, I thought just the X86 folder.

Well back to uninstall/re-install

Thanks for help
